A Mercedes-Benz 500K Roadster, built in 1935 and exhibited on the Mercedes-Benz stand at that year’s Berlin Motor Show, took the honours for the top sale at Bonhams Chantilly auction on 3 September, making €5,290,000 (estimate €5,000,000 – 7,000,000).
All the Horch Roadsters on offer found new homes; a circa 1937 853 Spezialroadster at €1,035,000 (estimate €1,000,000 – 1,300,000); a 1938 853A Sportcabriolet at €632,500 (estimate €700,000 – 900,000); and a 1934 780 B also brought €632,500 (estimate €600,000 – 900,000).
Other highlights included a 23,203-km 1990 BMW Z1 far exceeding pre-sale expectations, making €69,000 (estimate €35,000 – 55,000); a 1964 OSCA 1600 GT sold for €293,332 (estimate €280,000 – 320,000); a 1993 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6, showing some 49,900km took €238,625 (estimate €280,000 – 320,000); and a 47,000-km 1994 Porsche 928 GTS fetched €101,200 (estimate €70,000 – 90,000).
A 119,582-km 1978 Porsche 911 Turbo headed the results at Auctionata’s 10 September sale, changing hands for €109,250 (estimate €120,000), while a 54,027-km 1985 Ferrari 308 GTS QV went for €80,500 (estimate €70,000).
