The Keno Brothers eagerly anticipated first foray in to classic car auctions kicked off with their 40-lot ‘Rolling Sculpture’ sale in New York, which yielded a sale total of $8.3 million and a sale rate of 50%.
The star attraction, a 1969 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 N.A.R.T. Competizione with a pre-sale estimate of $4,900,000 – 5,900,000 failed to sell on the day, leaving a 1968 Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada to claim the top honours with a final price of $1,010,800 (estimate $750,000 – 1,300,000).
Other notable highlights included; a 1969 Lamborghini Miura P400 S which sold for $974,400 (estimate $800,000 – 1,600,000); a 1965 Aston Martin DB5 made $950,000 (estimate $950,000 – 1,600,000); and a 1939 BMW 327 Sport Cabriolet, in need of restoration having been in storage for 30 years, fetched $100,800 (estimate $80,000 – 150,000).
