The ex-Roger Vadim/Jane Fonda 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB made a mid-estimate €2,255,000 at RM Sotheby’s Milan auction on 15 June, topping the 19 lots on offer.
Stand-out results also included a 2000 Ferrari 550 GT1 at €1,805,000 (estimate €1,800,000 – 2,200,000) and a 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster with a unique plexiglass roof created by Augusta Helicopters that fetched €1,051,250 (estimate €900,000 – 1,100,000); while a 1988 Lamborghini LM002 set a new benchmark for the model in Europe at €393,125 (estimate €225,000 – 275,000).

Record prices were also achieved at RM Sotheby’s Passion for Elegance auction in Liechtenstein, with all 25 Rolls-Royces and Bentleys finding new homes. Top sale went to a 1954 Rolls-Royce Phantom IV Limousine that was built for HRH Princess Margaret, blitzing its CHF400,000 – 600,000 estimate with a winning bid of CHF2,255,000. Among the other strong results, an ex-Sophia Loren 1963 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Drophead Coupe Adaptation achieved CHF1,045,625 (estimate CHF530,000 – 660,000), a 1967 Rolls-Royce Phantom V Touring Limousine drew CHF567,500 (estimate CHF220,000 – 310,000), and a 1958 Bentley S1 Continental Drophead Coupe went for CHF1,220,000 (estimate CHF900,000 – 1,200,000).

A two-owner 8,900km 2014 McLaren P1 delivered new to Switzerland was the star performer on the day at Bonhams’ Bonmont sale, taking CHF1,207,500 (estimate CHF1,200,000 – 1,500,000), the catalogue cover Ferrari 250 GT Lusso selling post-auction for CHF1,340,348 (estimate CHF1,350,000 – 1,950,000). Elsewhere, Mercedes G-Wagens changing hands included a one-owner 2014 G63 AMG 6x6 with only 195km at CHF667,000 (estimate CHF350,000 – 450,000) and an unused G650 Maybach Landaulet raised CHF707,250 (estimate CHF650,000 – 850,000) – both sold new in Kuwait.

A 1937 Delahaye 135 M Cabriolet with elegant coachwork by Chapron from the Claude Gratzmüller collection took €141,960 at Aguttes’ 20 June sale (estimate €80,000 – 120,000), contributing towards an 83% sell-through rate.
The auction also featured an unrestored 1958 AC Ace Bristol with 27,899 original miles that brought €390,360 (estimate €400,000 – 500,000), a 1982 Citroën 2CV Charleston with only 39km from new sold at €47,560 (estimate €35,000 – 55,000), and a 1967 Porsche 911 2.0 S soft window Targa garnered €134,536 (estimate €90,000 – 120,000).
