Classic Car Auctions posted an impressive 90% sell-through rate and a £2 million total at its 27 June online sale, headed by a brace of Jaguar E-Type Roadsters. A right-hand drive 1971 Series III V12 with a manual gearbox made its upper estimate at £79,200, and a 1970 Series II 4.2 requiring attention to the paintwork took £57,200 (estimate £45,000 – 50,000).
The top five results were rounded off with a 1960 Lotus Elite at £51,700 (estimate £50,000 – 60,000); a 41,867-mile 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider at £51,150 (estimate £50,000 – 55,000); and a two-owner 1958 Jaguar XK 150 3.4 Coupe with some engine issues drew £50,600 (estimate £35,000 – 40,000).
Strong interest for hot hatches saw a 1983 Talbot Sunbeam Lotus – with minimal use since a meticulous restoration in 2017 – going for £23,650 (estimate £24,000 – 27,000) and a recently-restored a 1980 Ford Fiesta Supersport bringing £20,900 (estimate £20,000 – 25,000); while a trio of Peugeot 205 1.9 GTis also changed hands, led by a 66,000-mile 1987 Phase 1 example in silver which went for £14,190 (estimate £8,000 – 10,000).
Elsewhere, a 1971 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow in single-family ownership since 1974 achieved £21,120, comfortably exceeding its £12,000 – 15,000 guide, and a two-owner ‘no reserve’ 1981 Audi UR-Quattro, in need recommissioning following 12 years in storage, sold for £20,350.

A 1988 Porsche 911 Turbo showing 88,747 miles was the star performer at Anglia Car Auctions’ 20-21 June sale, successfully hammered away for a bang-on-upper-estimate £68,040.
Other noticeable results included a high-spec 5,103-mile 2015 Land Rover Defender 110 Double Cab, supplied new through Land Rover Military Sales, which smashed its £35,000 – 40,000 estimate at £60,420, and a show-winning 1962 Chevrolet Corvette did likewise, commanding a winning bid of £54,060 (estimate £37,500 – 44,000).

One of the highlights at SWVA’s 26 June sale was a 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 4.2 Coupe, owned by the consignor since 1995. Having spent a number of years off the road in storage it will require recommissioning, but it had no trouble eclipsing its £22,500 – 24,000 guide, raising £40,500. SWVA achieved a phenomenal 99% sell-through rate, with only one of the 99 cars failing to attract a buyer.
