The Finest’s sale in Boca Raton on 11 February was headed by a 2011 Porsche 911 Speedster, number 322 of 356 produced, which sold for $246,750 (estimate $235,000 – 255,000).
Success among the modern era exotica on offer included a 26,800-km 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster, fetching $189,000 (estimate $225,000 – 250,000); a 7,626-mile 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo in single family ownership from new made $187,000 (estimate $185,000 – 195,000); and an 18,910-mile 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series, consigned with no reserve, changed hands for $165,000.
Other highlights included a three-owner 1979 Aston Martin V8, with 66,000 miles from new, selling for $110,000 (estimate $130,000 – 160,000); a 12,000-mile 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 – stored for some 36 years – went for $53,900 (estimate $55,000 – 75,000); and a 1949 Fiat 500 ‘Topolino’ that had resided with just two families from new took $38,500 (estimate $45,000 – 55,000).
