Silverstone Auctions Ferrari Sale Preview
2 June, 2021
Silverstone Auctions are set to hold a Ferrari-only sale at the National Ferrari Owners’ Day at Swyell Aerodrome on 5 June, where the star attraction is a UK-supplied 1972 365 GTB/4. Guided at £440,000 – 500,000, the Daytona was owned by Elton John from 1973-75 and comes with a wealth of history, invoices, MOTs and documents, together with recent Ferrari Classiche certification.
The 27-car line-up also features four Dinos, headed by a 43,650-mile 1974 246 GTS that is finished in its original shade of Nocciola Metallizzato (estimate £375,000 – 425,000). The right-hand drive example with factory-flares and Ferrari Classiche certification was supplied new to the Sultan of Pahang in Malaysia, with just two owners since, and was restored by John Pogson at Italia Autosport between 2016 and 2018.
Other highlights include a 1979 512 BB with one private owner from new and 21,952 miles (estimate £180,000 – 210,000), an 18,318-mile 2003 575M originally owned by rock legend Eric Clapton (estimate £90,000 – 100,000), and a barely-used two-owner 2006 F430 with only 1,313 miles (estimate £90,000 – 100,000).
