Two private collections feature among the cars consigned for Bonhams’ 29 September in Cheserex, Switzerland. Topping the entries is a one-of-nine 2014 Lamborghini Veneno Roadster with a pre-sale estimate of CHF5,200,000 – 6,200,000. Based on the Aventador, to mark Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary as a car manufacturer, this example has covered just 325km from new and carries Equatorial Guinea registration documents.
Other low-mileage hypercars from the same collection being sold on behalf of the State of Geneva, with proceeds going to charity, include a 894-km Ferrari LaFerrari (estimate CHF2,600,000 – 2,800,000); a 1,226-km 2011 Aston Martin One-77 (estimate CHF1,400,000 – 1,800,00); and a one-of-six 597-km 2015 Koenigsegg One:1 (estimate CHF1,800,000 – 2,300,000).
A brace of Mercedes-Benz 300 SLs will also go under the hammer, with a recently restored 1955 Gullwing listed at CHF1,100,000 – 1,400,000 and a 1959 Roadster, owned by the vendor since 1988, at CHF770,000 – 1,100,000.
Highlights among the Porsches on offer include a two-owner 14,600-km 1993 911 Turbo S Leichtbau, one of 86 lightweights produced (estimate CHF1,100,000 – 1,300,000) and a 21,890-km 1996 911 GT2 Evo (estimate CHF750,000 – 950,000).
More than 130 cars will cross the block without reserve when RM Sotheby’s brings The Sáragga Collection to auction on 21 September in Portugal. The entries are led by a 1931 Bentley 8 Litre Tourer with known history from new (estimate €700,000 – 800,000); while a matching-numbers 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring is listed at €450,000 – 550,000, and a 1939 Delahaye 135 M Cabriolet with ‘Grand Luxe’ bodywork by Chapron carries a guide of €400,000 – 450,000.
Another rare example of Chapron’s work is a one-off 1966 Mercedes-Benz 600 with a full-length glass roof, pipe holders, seats that convert into a double bed and other bespoke details. The modifications were carried out by the Parisian coachbuilder on behalf the car’s first owner, Nubar Gulbenkian, after Mercedes-Benz politely refused his requests (estimate €300,000 – 400,000).
