Silverstone Auctions’ annual Porsche sale gets underway on 21 October, headed by a 1998 911 Turbo S, with a pre-sale estimate of £245,000 – 285,000.
A 33,186-km left-hand drive 1991 911 RS is estimated at £130,000 – 150,000 and a right-hand drive Touring version – one of just 11 believed to have been built in this configuration – is listed at £185,000 – 210,000.
Elsewhere highlights include a 24,000-mile 1988 911 Turbo Convertible (estimate £90,000 – 120,000); a single-owner 14,100-mile 1985 911 Turbo SE (estimate £180,000 – 220,000); a 1981 924 Carrera GT (estimate £30,000 – 35,000); and a 1973 911 modified to 2.8 RSR specification with a current FIA Technical Passport (estimate £80,000 – 100,000).
Brightwells is set to offer a 1987 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth at its Modern Classics sale in Leominster on 19 October. This two-owner car has covered just 27,300 miles from new and has recently been treated to cambelt service following 12 years in storage (estimate £42,500 – 45,500).
Six days later Brightwells host a Classic and Vintage sale at Bicester Heritage where the early entries include a right-hand drive 51,500-mile 1976 Ferrari 308 GTB Vetroresina (estimate £120,000 – 140,000); a left-hand drive 1961 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL (estimate £90,000 – 100,000); and a 1937 Alvis 4.3 Sports Saloon by Charlesworth – recently the subject of an £18,000 engine rebuild (estimate £60,000 – 70,000).
Low mileage British machinery due to go under the hammer at SWVA’s 27 October sale include; a 15,835-mile 1983 Rover SD1 2600 S, previously owned by an SD1 Club secretary (estimate £3,000 – 3,750); a 31,900-mile 1988 Jaguar XJS HE, in single-family ownership from new (estimate £4,900 – 5,750); and a 1972 Austin Mini which has covered just 15,900 miles during its 45-year life (estimate £5,500 – 6,000).
