Over 150 lots have been announced for RM Sotheby’s ‘Driving into Summer’ auction – a time-based online sale with bidding open from 21 May. Ferraris dominate the big-ticket entries; a 23,500-km 1985 288 GTO is offered with a pre-sale estimate of $2,200,000 – 2,400,000, along with a two owner 2003 Enzo with less than 1,250 miles from new (estimate $2,600,000 – 2,900,000) and a 3,371-mile F50 which was exhibited at the 1995 Frankfurt Motor Show (estimate $2,500,000 – 2,750,000).
Early consignments include three Ford GTs; a 2017 model in Triple Yellow with 1,471 miles (estimate $850,000 – 950,000), a barely used 2005 example showing just 446 miles (estimate $280,000 – 320,000); and a two-owner 2006 Gulf-liveried Heritage Edition with 5,400 miles (estimate $330,000 – 360,000).
A 1972 Citroën SM with a five-speed manual gearbox is listed at $50,000 – 60,000. Sold new in California, it received an engine rebuild in 2005-2006 and new clutch in 2016, and comes with service and ownership history dating back to the 1970s.
Notable highlights include a time-warp 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster with only 41 miles on the clock (estimate $225,000 – 250,000); a recently restored 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Coupe, one of 50 built by Ellena (estimate $625,000 – 725,000); and a 1967 Lamborghini 400 GT (estimate $400,000 – 470,000).
