Three Aston Martin DB6 Volantes head the 42-car entry at Bonhams’ annual Aston Martin Sale on 13 May. A 1968 Mark 1 which has only covered around 1,000 miles since its restoration at Aston Martin Works in 2012 is estimated at £700,000 – 900,000; a 1970 mark 2 is £700,000 – 800,000; and a 1968 Mark 1 to Vantage spec is £680,000 – 750,000.
Contemporary models on offer include a delivery-mileage 2016 Aston Martin Vantage GT12, one of 100 produced (estimate £350,000 – 400,000); a single-family owner 2000 Aston Martin Vantage Le Mans (estimate £300,000 – 400,000); and a 1996 Aston Martin V8 Sportsman, one of just three examples built by Aston Martin (estimate £300,000 – 350,000).
Other notable highlights include a 1964 Aston Martin DB5 (estimate £500,000 – 600,000); a partially-restored 1961 Aston Martin DB4 (estimate £200,000 – 300,000); a 1989 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante 'X-Pack' 7.0-Litre (estimate £350,000 – 400,000); and a 1989 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Zagato Volante – one of 12 right-hand drive cars produced (estimate £265,000 – 325,000).
Top lot at Silverstone Auctions 13 May sale is a 1993 Porsche 911 Turbo 'S' Leichtbau – one of just 86 examples – with a pre-sale estimate of £475,000 – 575,000.
Other significant entries include a 1971 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage, presented in its original colour combination of Dubonnet Rosso/Tan (estimate £325,000 – 375,000); a 1972 Ferrari 365 GTC/4 (estimate £230,000 – 260,000); a 1992 Porsche 911 RS (estimate £180,000 – 220,000); and a 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4, the subject of a body-off restoration in 2009 (estimate £165,000 – 185,000).
Highlights among the BMWs on offer include an 80,000-mile 1990 M3 (estimate £40,000 – 50,000): a 1992 Alpina B10 Bi-Turbo (estimate £30,000 – 40,000); a 1973 3.0 CSL (estimate £45,000 – 55,000); and a 1989 Z1 (estimate £25,000 – 30,000).
Brightwells sale on 17 May will feature four Jaguar E-Types; a left-hand drive 1972 Series III V12 Coupe (estimate £48,000 – 52,000): a 1970 Series II 4.2 Coupe, only used for shows since a comprehensive restoration was completed in 2003 (estimate £35,000 – 38,000); and a pair of restoration-project 1969 Series II 4.2 Coupes, both imported from the US.
Star attraction at Historics at Brooklands sale on 20 May is a 16,801-km 1997 Jaguar XJ220 which has been converted to S specification by Don Law Racing, estimated at £325,000 – 375,000.
Notable highlights also include a left-hand drive ‘flat-floor’ 1961 Jaguar E-Type Series I 3.8 Roadster (estimate £175,000 – 205,000); a recently restored 1967 Porsche 911S (estimate £220,000 – 250,000); a restoration-project 1967 Aston Martin DB6 Mk 1 offered at no reserve; and a 1972 BMW 3.0 CSL also in need of a complete restoration and offered at no reserve.
