Following on from H&H’s successful sale of the late Richard Colton Ferraris in October 2015, the Cheshire based auction house has consigned another headline Ferrari with the sale proceeds once again going to charity. The former Chairman of the Ferrari UK Club, the late Richard Allen, donated his 1964 Ferrari 330GT Nembo Spider to benefit the East Anglia Air Ambulance and the car is set to go under the hammer at the Imperial War Museum sale on 29 March, offered at no reserve. H&H estimate that chassis 5805GT should sell for a figure well in excess of £500,000.
Other notable Ferraris on offer include a 1958 250GT PF rebodied as a LWB California Spyder (estimate £600,000 – 800,000); a left-hand drive 1965 330 GT 2+2 (estimate £200,000 – 240,000); and a right-hand drive 1993 512 TR showing 30,200 miles (estimate £135,000 – 155,000).
Elsewhere, highlights include a 4,700-mile 2004 Aston Martin DB7 Zagato – one of only 99 produced - estimated at £250,000 – 280,000; a 1979 Bitter CD at £60,000 – 70,000; a 1954 Lancia Aurelia B20 GT at £105,000 - 125,000; and a 1979 Lotus Esprit ‘Commemorative’ edition showing 61,000 miles, at £30,000 – 40,000.
DVCA kicks off its 2017 season on 2 March when 27 cars are due to cross the block. Star attraction is a 1958 Jaguar XK 150 SE Fixed Head Coupe with a pre-sale estimate of £55,000 – 65,000. Other highlights include a 1981 Isuzu 117 Coupe at £6,000 – 8,000; a 1982 Ford Cortina Convertible by Crayford at £6,000 – 7,000; and a 38,280-mile 1973 Audi 80GL at £6,000 – 7,000.
A 1982 Ferrari 512 BBi heads the inventory at Historics at Brooklands 4 March sale. This left-hand drive example has covered 33,000 miles from new and carries a pre-sale estimate of £275,000 – 310,000.
Notable entries include a one-owner 10,815-mile 1994 Aston Martin Virage Volante with the ‘widebody’ option and engine upgrade to 6.3 litres (estimate £150,000 – 175,000); a 1966 Jaguar E-Type Series I Fixed Head Coupe with a documented 22,600 miles on the clock (estimate £110,000 – 130,000); and a one-owner 1982 Rolls-Royce Camargue which has covered less than 5,000 miles from new (estimate £75,000 – 90,000).
Sharing the honours for top-billing at Richard Edmonds sale on 4 March is a 1959 Jaguar XK 150 Fixed Head Coupe, estimated at £50,000 – 60,000, and an ex-Works Hillman Imp Rally Car which competed in the 1967 Monte Carlo Rally (estimate £30,000 – 50,000).
A pair of Austin-Healeys feature among the entries at Brightwells 8 March sale; a 1956 100/4 BN2, owned by the vendor for some 30 years (estimate £50,000 – 55,000) and a 1963 left-hand drive 3000 MkIIA (estimate £30,000 – 50,000).
Mathewsons’ 18 March sale includes a stalled restoration project 1966 Jaguar E-Type Series I 4.2 litre Coupe, estimated at £37,500 – 42,500.
Headlining Bonhams annual Goodwood Members’ Meeting sale on 19 March is a 1961 Aston Martin DP214 Replica, with a pre-sale estimate of £600,000 – 700,000.
Other significant entries among the competition cars include an ex-Alan Mann Racing 1968 Ford Escort Twin Cam, raced in period in the British Touring Car Championship (estimate £200,000 – 250,000); a 1965 Lola T70 Spyder – twice winner of the Whitsun Trophy at Goodwood (estimate £200,000 – 300,000); and a 1987 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth which contested the 1987 and ’88 European Touring Car Championships (estimate £95,000 – 115,000).
Notable highlights also include a 1903 Clément 12/16HP 4-Cylinder (estimate £250,000 – 300,000); a left-hand drive 1966 Ferrari 330GT 2+2 (estimate £180,000 – 220,000); a 1970 Mini Margrave by Wood & Pickett – complete with Mercedes-Benz headlight units (estimate £23,000 – 25,000); and a 1975 Lamborghini Urraco P250S (estimate £60,000 – 80,000).
Woodlands Classic Car Auctions launches its inaugural sale on 25 March from its base in Wigan. Early entries include a Cadillac Fleetwood – presented to the Hollywood Legend Greer Garson by MGM Studios in 1939 (estimate £90,000); a barn find left-hand drive 1961 Jaguar E-Type Series I 3.8 Roadster (estimate £65,000); and a recently restored ex-California 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible 289 (estimate £25,000).
