The 1937 RAC Rally-winning SS Jaguar 100 2.5 Litre tops the inventory at H&H’s Imperial War Museum sale on 14 June, estimated at £380,000 – 450,000. Privateer Jack Harrop steered ‘CVU 2’ to victory, beating the two Works cars, following his successful debut earlier in the year at the Monte Carlo where he finished 13th. Recently emerging from a meticulous ten-year restoration, it’s been returned to its rally specification and authenticated by the late David Davenport, renowned marque specialist.
Other British machinery includes a 1960 Bentley S2 Continental H.J. Mulliner Coupe with one-off coachwork featuring minimal overhangs at the rear, owned by the consignor since 1978 (estimate £170,000 – 220,000); a 1977 Aston Martin V8 'S' with a comprehensive set of history files documenting a well-maintained existence (estimate £70,000 – 90,000); and a three-owner 1982 Bentley Corniche Convertible with 37,000 miles (estimate £70,000 – 80,000).
A 1986 Ford Escort RS Turbo that has remained in single-family ownership from new is expected to fetch £40,000 – 50,000. Stored from 2005-2012, it has covered 37,175 miles and is offered with an MOT valid until May 2024, a recent service and original purchase documents.

Anglia Car Auctions’ June sale will see a matching-numbers 1960 Jaguar XK 150 3.8 S Drophead Coupe go under the hammer with a guide of £155,000 – 180,000. One of only 69 right-hand drive examples produced, it received a £160,000 restoration six years ago.

Notable highlights at Classic Car Auctions’ summer sale include a 1990 Audi Quattro 20V, two-owners and 107,000 miles (estimate £55,000 – 65,000); a 34,036-mile 1999 Ferrari 360 Modena that has just been recommissioned and serviced following 10 years on display at the Haynes Motor Museum (estimate £50,000 – 60,000); and a 43,512-mile 1979 Ford Escort RS2000 Custom, repainted in 2022 (estimate £35,000 – 40,000).
