Bonhams brings a 79-car catalogue to Goodwood on 14 July to celebrate the 30th Anniversary Festival of Speed sale, with no fewer than 27 Aston Martins among the line-up. Start attraction is an ex-Peter Sellers 1961 DB4GT, used by him in the film The Wrong Arm of the Law with a pre-sale estimate of £2,200,000 – 2,600,000. Fitted with a 4.0-litre cylinder block by the factory after being damaged during filming, it was the subject of a four-year £125,000 restoration, passing to the consignor in 2004 soon after the works had been completed. The also features a 1964 DB5 project, stored in its current dismantled state for decades (estimate £220,000 – 300,000).
Elsewhere, an ex-Works 1984 Audi Sport Quattro S1 Group B Rally Car is expected to fetch £1,200,000 – 1,400,000. Driven by Hannu Mikkola to victories on the 1986 Welsh International and National Breakdown rallies, it has been a regular competitor at Goodwood and has been returned to its original spec during the vendor’s ownership, although unused since 2017.
Other highlights include a unique single-owner 2007 Koenigsegg CCGT, designed to compete in GT1 but unraced following a rule change that rendered it ineligible (estimate £3,000,000 – 4,000,000); a UK-registered 2023 Ford GT Holman Moody Heritage Edition, with just 20 delivery miles (estimate £900,000 – 1,100,000); and an 8,300-mile 1989 BMW Alpina Z1 RLE, in the current ownership since 1991 (estimate £80,000 – 100,000).

The first Ford GT registered in the UK is among the early entries at Historics’ 22 July sale at Windsorview Lakes. Imported by the owner in 2004 it has covered only 6,500 miles from new and carries a guide of £250,000 – 280,000.
A 35,530-mile 2012 McLaren MP4-12C (estimate £55,000 – 65,000) is set to go under the hammer at H&H’s Buxton sale on 26 July, where it will be joined by an unmolested five-owner Mk I 1981 Volkswagen GTi with 92,000 miles, listed at £15,000 – 17,000.
