Le Mans Classic is back on the calendar after a four-year gap, with competition cars topping the entries at Artcurial’s sale that accompanies the event on 2 July, headed by a Maserati A6GCS/53 that claimed a class win and 6th overall at the 1954 Tour de France Automobile (estimate €3,250,000 – 3,650,000).
The French auction house recently announced a collaboration with Renault that will see regular consignments from the manufacturer’s collection throughout the year. The first tranche of eight cars includes a 1983 Renault RE40 that was driven to victory by Alain Prost at the Belgium Grand Prix, estimated to fetch €800,000 – 1,200,000.

There is a change of venue to the Gstaad Palace for Bonhams’ annual Swiss sale this year, where the star attraction is a two-owner 2010 Lamborghini Reventón Roadster, listed at CHF1,850,000 – 2,200,000. One of only 15 examples built, it was delivered new to Switzerland and has covered 2,410km, remaining unused since the consignor’s purchase in 2019.
Another rarity set to cross the block is a 1969 Citroën DS 21 'Majesty' Saloon, just 27 were produced by Chapron and Bonhams’ car is one of the three to feature directional headlights. Restored by a Citroën specialist prior to changing hands in 2009 it requires recommissioning having been stored in the intervening period (estimate CHF50,000 – 100,000).

Highlights at Dorotheum’s sale in Vösendorf, Austria include a one-owner 2005 Porsche Carrera GT with 32,000km (estimate €950,000 – 1,350,000); a time-warp 6,647-km 1994 Chrysler Viper RT/10 (estimate €120,000 – 200,000); and a 1989 BMW Z1, one of the few finished in Fun Yellow with a matching interior, originally owned by Prince Ernst August of Hanover and now showing 26,830km (estimate €75,000 – 95,000).
