Artcurial heads to Monaco on 2 July where it will host a sale of 123 classic and collector cars, a quarter of which are to be offered without a reserve. One of the stars is a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 RSR, with a pre-sale estimate of €1,400,000 – 1,600,000. The car was delivered new to America, shortly afterwards embarking on a successful racing career which saw it competing in the Daytona 24 Hours on seven occasions together with eight Sebring 12 Hour races.
Sharing the limelight will be a 1962 Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet, issued with ‘Classiche’ in 2013 following a comprehensive restoration by renowned marque experts Toni Auto, Lupi and Sport Car (estimate €1,400,000 – 1,600,000), and a 33,764-km 2009 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport, one of only 48 examples produced (estimate €1,400,000 – 1,600,000).
Rally fans are well catered for; a 1985 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 Group B is estimated at €230,000 – 280,000; a road-going version with just 248km from new is €275,000 – 325,000; a two-owner 1982 Renault 5 Turbo Client-competition "Cévennes" is €110,000 – 160,000; and a 6,600-mile 1987 MG Metro 6R4 "Clubman" is also estimated at €110,000 – 160,000.
A pair of RUF Porsches are set to cross the block; a 1989 Porsche 911 RUF CTR "Yellow Bird", one of 28 made (estimate €500,000 – 800,000); and a 13,367-km 1986 Porsche 911 RUF BTR Cabriolet (estimate €120,000 – 200,000).
Italian machinery on offer includes a 1961 Maserati 3500 GT Spyder, one of only two produced in British Racing green (estimate €800,000 – 900,000); a 1967 Lamborghini 350 GT "Interim" (estimate €550,000 – 750,000); and a 4,200-km 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale A (estimate €500,000 – 700,000).
