Star attractions at Coys’ Grande Marques sale on 16 January at Interclassics Maasstricht are a 1936 BMW 328, recently rebuilt using a BMW 315 chassis (estimate €290,000 – 330,000), and a 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GT “Competition” (estimate €250,000 – 290,000). The Ferrari started life as a road car prior to being prepared for competition by the renowned Ferrari dealership – Garage Francorchamps. The car was campaigned extensively in Hill Climbs, sprints and races throughout the 1970s and 1980s and has subsequently formed part of two respected historic car collections.
Other notable entries include; a 1965 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2, one of just 625 Series 1 examples produced (estimate €230,000 – 270,000); a 1960 Jaguar XK 150 Drophead Coupe, offered with no reserve; and a 1948 Lancia Aprilia Cabriolet, believed to be one of only three such cars built by the Swiss coachbuilder Langenthal (estimate €68,000 – 78,000).
Top lot at Classicbid’s 30 January sale in Frankfurt is a 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL, with a pre-sale estimate of €49,500. The car has spent most of its life in the US and comes complete with a hardtop and Becker Mexico radio.
