A 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT has been consigned for Silverstone Auctions’ Race Retro sale on 23 February with an estimate of £240,000 – 280,000. The right-hand drive car is one of only a few to have left the factory finished in Azzuro Dino over Nero – a scheme is still presents in today – and it comes with the coveted Ferrari Classiche certification and a warranted 51,786 miles from new.
Among the Porsches on offer, a matching numbers 356 A Speedster that was converted to right-hand drive by JD Classics in 2015 has been estimated at £280,000 – 320,000; an 8,000-mile 2008 911 GT3 RS is £110,000 – 120,000; a 1988 911 3.2 Carrera Club Sport that began life as a Porsche UK Press Car is listed at £95,000 – 110,000; and a 914/6 which has been built to FIA specification carries a guide of £75,000 – 95,000.
Low-mileage machinery includes a 1996 Ford Escort Cosworth Lux which has covered just 838 miles from new (estimate £80,000 – 90,000) and an ex-Brunei Royal Household 1994 Porsche 928 GTS showing 5,100 miles (estimate £45,000 – 55,000); while a 19,000-mile 2005 Ferrari F430 with the sought after manual gearbox option is £100,000 – 120,000.
Coys gets its 2019 UK season underway with a two-day sale at The London Classic Car Show from 16-17 February. The auction features a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring which resided in Florida for some 30 years prior to the consignor’s purchase in 2014, since when it has received a recent service and cosmetic refresh.
Three Lamborghinis are set to cross the block, headed by a two-owner left-hand drive 11,000-km 1993 Diablo at £110,000 – 130,000, with an 18,000-mile 1984 Jalpa estimated at £60,000 – 70,000, and a 33,000-mile 1974 Urraco P250S which underwent a £15,000 engine rebuild in December 2018 is guided at £58,000 – 63,000.
Other notable highlights include a 1962 Aston Martin DB4 with a history file containing invoices for close to £200,000 (estimate £400,000 – 450,000); a 4,300-mile 2005 Porsche Carrera GT (estimate £650,000 – 750,000); and a two-owner 1983 Renault 5 Turbo 2 which has covered only 17,000 miles and was upgraded by the factory to Stage II specification (estimate £55,000 – 65,000).
