Bonhams’ season-ending sale takes place at its Bond Street HQ, where the star attraction is a 2006 Koenigsegg CCXR offered from the collection of its sole owner, Bård Eker. Starting life as a test and certification car, chassis 7031 was upgraded in 2014 to an R-spec giving 1,018bhp and is expected to fetch £1,400,000 – 1,800,000 when it crosses the block on 12 December.
Rarer still is the McLaren 720S GT3X, one of only 15 produced, it represents the ultimate track-only iteration of the 720S. Rob Bell demonstrated its potential when he took a GT3X to record the fastest time at the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Bonhams’ example with just 450km carries a pre-sale estimate of £450,000 – 750,000.
Other highlights include a Norwegian-registered 1984 Lamborghini Countach LP500 S, owned by the consignor since 2005, it shows some 65,800km (estimate £375,000 – 475,000); a well-known and documented 1925 Bugatti Type 35A/35T that has resided with the Conway family for the past 46 years (estimate £475,000 – 675,000); and a 1959 Jaguar XK 150 S 3.8 Roadster with the sale proceeds going to charity (estimate £80,000 – 120,000).

A 1973 Ford Escort RS2000 that has been the subject of a recently completed five-year restoration is set to go under the hammer at Classic Car Auction’s Classic Sale on 7 December (estimate £70,000 – 80,000). Using NOS parts and a no-expense-spared approach, the meticulous work has been documented throughout with bills totalling in excess of £100,000.
Notable low-mileage machinery on offer includes a four-owner 9,335-mile 1981 MGB Roadster (estimate £10,000 – 12,000); a 1992 Daimler Double Six with 10,000 miles (estimate £25,000 - £30,000); and a 1998 Rover Mini Cooper S, one of a limited run of 100 produced - it’s covered only 166 miles from new (estimate £20,000 – 25,000).
