Star attraction at Bonhams sale on 4 December is a left-hand drive 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster with a pre-sale estimate of £1,000,000 – 1,200,000.
Big-ticket Aston Martin entries include a 36,143-mile 1989 V8 Vantage Volante, one of only 27 built to ‘Prince of Wales’ specification (estimate £600,000 – 700,000); a 1963 DB5 which has spent the majority of its life in Australia (estimate £570,000 – 610,000); a circa 400-km 2013 V12 Zagato, one of 61 produced (estimate £500,000 – 600,000); and a 1960 DB4 (estimate £320,000 – 360,000).
Other notable lots include a 1926 Rolls-Royce Phantom I 40/50hp known as ‘The Phantom of Love’ (estimate £500,000 – 700,000); the ex-Laurence Pomeroy Jnr. 1914 Vauxhall 25hp Prince Henry (estimate £500,000 – 600,000); a circa 26,000-mile three-owner 1968 Maserati Mistral 4000 Spyder (estimate £520,000 – 580,000); and a 4,054-mile one-owner 1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello (estimate £200,000 – 240,000).
A 1986 BMW Alpina B10 3.5 imported from Japan in 2015 is set to go under the hammer at Classic Car Auctions on 3 December, estimated at £15,000 – 20,000. The left-hand drive example is one of just 77 E28 B10s produced and currently shows around 117,000km.
Other highlights include a 12,000-mile 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 at £60,000 – 70,000; a 1979 Porsche 911 Turbo at £55,000 – 65,000; a right-hand drive 1992 Honda NSX at £30,000 – 35,000; and a restored 1977 Vauxhall Chevette HS at £18,000 – 22,000.
Topping the inventory at Coys True Greats auction on 5 December is the ex-Kent Frohde 1969 Porsche 911 S/T with a pre-sale estimate of £700,000 – 900,000.
Elsewhere, significant Ferraris include a 1972 365 GTB/4 Daytona, converted to a spyder during Bernard Foskers’ ownership (estimate £500,000 – 600,000); a 1968 330 GTC, the subject of a recently completed four year restoration by Hoyle-Fox (estimate £550,000 – 600,000); and a right-hand drive 1974 Dino 246 GT (estimate £270,000 – 300,000).
Bonhams head to Olympia on 7 December with over 80 lots going across the block. Leading the sale is a 1966 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Drophead Coupé, first owned by the Malaysian royal family, estimated at £340,000 – 380,000.
Other highlights include a 1952 Siata Daina Gran Sport, believed to be one of just eight Type As thought to exist (estimate £250,000 – 350,000); the 1971 Earls Court Motor Show Ferrari Dino 246 GT, restored in 2009/10 (estimate £300,000 – 350,000); a 1963 Aston Martin Lagonda Rapide (estimate £170,000 – 220,000); and a 17,127-km 1989 BMW Z1, stored since 1996 (estimate £40,000 – 50,000).
The star of the show at H&H’s Chateau Impney sale on 7 December is a right-hand drive 1988 Aston Martin V8 X-Pack, estimated at £240,000 – 280,000. This UK specification manual transmission car was comprehensively restored to concours condition, which included a replacement Vantage engine to X-Pack specification, following an accident in 2001.
The sale will include a 1933 Rolls-Royce 20/25 Sedanca Coupe by Gurney Nutting (estimate £125,000 – 155,000); a 2012 Ferrari F430 Spider, showing just 400 miles (estimate £100,000 – 120,000); a 2001 Porsche 911 GT2 Clubsport (estimate £95,000 – 115,000); and a two-owner 42,000-mile 2002 Renault Clio V6 Sport (estimate £22,000 – 26,000).
Brightwells Modern Classics sale on 8 December features a three-owner 72,000-mile 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 (estimate £55,000 – 60,000); a 17,600-mile left-hand drive 1990 Ferrari 348 ts (estimate £55,000 – 60,000); and a 60,000-mile 2007 Bentley Continental GT (estimate £32,000 – 35,000).
Among the highlights at Mathewsons 10 December sale is a 1968 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Coupe (estimate £50,000 – 60,000); a 1971 Ford Escort RS1600 BDA, restored in 2011 (estimate £50,000); and a 1957 Mercedes-Benz 220 S, with three keepers since the car was imported into the UK in 1964 (estimate £8,500 – 10,000).
A recently restored 1951 MG TD Competition, one of only 11 right-hand drive Mk IIs produced, has been consigned to Barons 13 December auction with a pre-sale estimate of £30,000 – 35,000.
