Coys returns to the Nurburgring for the 43rd AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix with over 70 classic and competition cars going under the hammer on 8 August. A one-owner 1992 Ferrari F40, showing just 7,881km from new, heads an impressive entry list which includes; a 1937 BMW 328 Roadster, owned by the vendor since 1973 (estimate €490,000 – 600,000); a 1971 LOLA T 222 ex-Jo Bonnier, Vic Elford, Peter Westbury and Mario Casoni (estimate €370,000 – 420,000); and a 1958 Jaguar XK 150 SWB Cozzi Special (estimate €100,000 – 140,000).
Other notable lots include a 1976 Ferrari 308 GTB Vetroresina born as a “Competizione” by Ferrari (estimate €280,000 – 380,000), and an ex-works Waldegard 1976 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0, which competed in the 1977 and 2004 London to Sydney Marathons, 1979 Repco Rally and 2005 East African Safari Rally (estimate €400,000 – 475,000).
Formula One cars entered in the sale include an ex-Mario Andretti/Nigel Mansell 1980 Lotus 81 (estimate €325,000 – 375,000) and a 1982 Arrows A4-3 (estimate €300,000 – 400,000). Other highlights include; a 1959 Stanguellini Formula Junior (estimate €80,000 – 100,000); a 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta SS (estimate €90,000 – 130,000); a 1972 De Tomaso Pantera (estimate €65,000 – 85,000); and a 2013 “BRM P160” prop race car as featured in Ron Howard’s movie Rush (estimate €20,000 – 30,000).
