Bonhams returns to Goodwood for the Members’ Meeting on 13 April where a brace of pre-war Bentleys top the catalogue. The 1927 Special known as ‘The Other Gun’ was built by Stanley Mann Racing, based on a 3 Litre ‘Red Label’ chassis fitted with a 6½-Litre Speed Six engine – enlarged to eight litres (estimate £500,000 – 700,000). The 1932 8-Litre gained Le Mans Tourer-style bodywork during a five-year restoration by renowned marque specialist Wayne Huckle, after which it completed the 3,500-mile International Vintage Bentley Tour in 2007 without incident (estimate £500,000 – 600,000).
A barely-used 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto with around 600 miles on the clock is set to go under the hammer with an estimate of £330,000 – 400,000, while a 19,220-mile 2002 Lamborghini Diablo VT – one of only 30 UK examples – is expected to fetch £250,000 – 280,000.
Rock legend Eric Clapton first owned the 1975 Ferrari 365 GT4 BB on offer and he featured it on the artwork for his album ‘Slowhand’, photographed after an accident when it had only covered 43 miles. It’s had a cosseted life since being purchased by the consignor in 1975, for the most part on display in his kitchen, and now shows just 14,900 miles (estimate £175,000 – 275,000).
Bonhams’ 1973 Ford Capri 3.0 GXL is one of three Group 1 cars built by Ford to compete in the inaugural Avon Tour of Great Britain, where it was driven by HRH Prince Michael of Kent – finishing 16th. Subsequent outings included the 24 Hours of Spa, a one-off race at the Österreichring with Niki Lauda at the helm, a celebrity race with Barry Sheene, and Tom Walkinshaw campaigning it in the 1974 British Saloon Car Championship where he took the Class C honours. The subject of a £100,000 restoration following the vendor’s purchase in 2018, it returned to the track with Steve Soper at the 2021 Goodwood Members' Meeting (estimate £80,000 – 120,000).

145 cars will cross the block at H&H’s Imperial War Museum sale on 9 April with a 1967 Costin-Nathan GT among the star attractions. Chassis GT66023 was displayed at the Olympia International Racing Car Show and was the first production example built. Recently purchased by its original creator, Roger Nathan, it underwent a three-year restoration and is described as ‘on the button and ready to race’ (estimate £190,000 – 210,000).
Other highlights include a single-family owned 1977 Ferrari 512 BB with a unique 'Wide Body' conversion by Maranello Concessionaires and a believed correct 6,000 miles (estimate £150,000 – 170,000); a 1966 TVR Griffith 200/400, retained by the current custodian since 1971 (estimate £90,000 – 110,000); and a 67,000-mile 1973 Lamborghini Espada, recently recommissioned after 22 years in storage (estimate £70,000 – 90,000).
