Artcurial holds its 12th Automobiles sur les Champs-Elysées sale on 8 April with an inventory of 86 vehicles, headed by a 1989 Ferrari F40. Supplied new by Charles Pozzi in Paris, the car has covered 52,784km in the hands of three owners and carries a pre-sale estimate of €750,000 – 850,000.
Other top-tier machinery includes a 1927 Bugatti Type 43 Torpédo Grand Sport, believed to have been mostly constructed using original Bugatti parts (estimate €500,000 – 800,000); a 1968 Aston Martin DB6 Volante, one of just 140 examples produced (estimate €550,000 – 750,000); a 1939 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Spider (estimate €200,000 – 300,000); and a 1957 Facel Vega FV4 which has been the subject of a four year restoration (estimate €170,000 – 230,000).
Elsewhere, highlights include a 1983 Renault 5 Turbo Group IV, recently restored at a cost of some €80,000 (estimate €130,000 – 180,000); a four-owner 1970 Lamborghini Espada with 42,000 miles from new (estimate €100,000 – 140,000); a 1973 Lamborghini Urraco P 250 S which has been in single-family ownership for the past 29 years (estimate €80,000 – 100,000); and a 21,727-km 2003 Renault Clio V6 (estimate €35,000 – 55,000).
Aguttes’ first sale of the month takes place at Neuilly-sur-Seine, France on 8 April where the entries include a 1961 Lancia Appia Convertible Vignale (estimate €35,000 – 45,000); a 1968 Lotus Elan S4, previously owned by the president of the Lotus Club in Sweden (estimate €36,000 – 42,000); and a 1966 Innocenti Spider 1100 S (estimate €15,000 – 18,000).
Six days later, Aguttes heads south to Lyon for its spring sale. Highlights among the lots due to cross the block include a one-of-24 1937 Aston Martin 2.0-Litre 15/98 Long Chassis Tourer – restored in 1997 (estimate €150,000 – 170,000); a 1929 Amilcar CGSS which has covered 5,000km since the completion of its restoration in 2007 (estimate €80,000 – 100,000); and a two-owner 1971 Citroën SM (estimate €35,000 – 45,000).
A 1972 Fiat Dino 2400 Coupe has been consigned to Stanislas Machoïr’s 8 April sale in Toulouse, France. The car is estimated at €50,000 – 60,000, and comes complete with a photographic record of its comprehensive restoration which was carried out in 2008 by BF Restori in Italy.
