Coys head to Germany for their sale at Techno-Classica in Essen on 18 April, with over 60 classic cars worth €8,000,000. Top lot is likely to be a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, which received factory servicing and restoration work with a thorough mechanical check at the Mercedes-Benz Classic Centre in Stuttgart in 2011 (estimate €900,000 – 1,200,000).
Other notable lots include; a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE (estimate €285,000 – 350,000); a restored 1954 Lancia Aurelia GT B20 (estimate €100,000 – 130,000); and a 1938 BMW 328 Roadster with a pre-sale estimate of €480,000 – 600,000. The 328 was discovered as a project in Germany approximately a decade ago and was brought over to the UK for restoration, utilising the specialist services of TT Workshop and Bristol Engineering.
Amongst the Porsche on offer is; a 1988 959, one of only 250 built; a 1976 911 G-series Carrera RS (estimate €280,00 – 330,000); a 1971 911 S/T; and a 1995 911 RS with an estimate of €280,000 – 330,000.
