A 61-car catalogue is scheduled for Bonhams’ Goodwood Festival of Speed Sale on 11 July, headed by a 2023 Mercedes-AMG ONE. The single-owner example is one of just 275, all of which were pre-sold prior to production. Barely used with some 100 miles on the clock, it is expected to fetch £2,400,000 – 2,800,000.
Other limited-production exotica includes a one-owner 770-km 2007 Bugatti Veyron 16.4, delivered new to Switzerland where it spent the majority of its life on static display (estimate £500,000 – 800,000); a 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 S Roadster with 10,650 miles and the cherished number plate ‘MO55 SLR’ (estimate £500,000 – 600,000); and a 7,300-mile 2009 Spyker C8 Laviolette, one of just 50 hardtop coupés (estimate £400,000 – 450,000).
A 1987 MG Metro 6R4 that was owned by Colin McRae after its National Rally duties ended is listed at £250,000 – 300,000. Described as ‘on the button’ following a comprehensive restoration to Tarmac spec, it’s been owned by the vendor for 16 years. Another car with period competition history is a 1972 Datsun 240Z. Initially raced in American SCCA events, it won the 1976 Pacific Coast Road Racing Championship at Sears Point, before being converted to IMSA spec at the end of 1981. Imported into the UK in 2014, it has been the subject of a £75,000 restoration at H-Engineering and carries a guide of £65,000 – 85,000.

RM Sotheby’s returns to Cliveden House for its second annual sale on 8 July where one of the star attractions is a unique 1957 Aston Martin DB4 Prototype. Styled by in-house designer Frank Feeley, it was ultimately abandoned in favour of Carrozzeria Touring’s DB4 design and passed to Davis Brown’s wife who used it as her personal transport for five years (estimate £385,000 – 425,000).
A manual gearbox 1996 Ferrari F355 GTS with 14,899 miles that was originally owned by Jeremy Clarkson has a pre-sale estimate of £180,000 – 220,000. Other notable entries include a Classiche-certified 1964 Ferrari 250 GT/L, one of only 23 right-hand drive UK examples (estimate £900,000 – 1,200,000); a two-owner 1953 Bentley R Type Continental Sports Saloon, residing with the vendor since 1975 (estimate £400,000 – 450,000); and a 40,025-mile 1980 Porsche 911 Turbo (estimate £130,000 – 150,000).
